Homophones

  • Some words can be tricky to spell because they look the same or sound the same but mean different things

  • We often call all of these ‘homophones’ even though there are different types

  • Some words sound the same but are spelt differently (to, too, two)

  • Some words look the same but sound different (read – present tense & read – past tense)
