Symmetry

• Symmetry is when a shape can be split into two matching halves
• If you fold the shape in half both sides will match
• If a mirror is put in the middle of the shape the reflection in the mirror will be exactly the same
• Some shapes have one line of symmetry, some several and some none at all
• Some things in nature are very close to being symmetrical like flowers, leaves, snowflakes, and butterflies
