BODMAS is an acronym (each letter is the beginning of a maths term)
Maths questions need to be done in BODMAS order
B is for brackets –the maths operation within any brackets has to be done first
O is for order – this means powers like squares 22 (= 4) and cubes 33 (= 27) or roots like square roots √4 (=2) and cube roots 3√27 (= 3)
D is for division M is for multiplication A is for addition S is for subtraction
