First phonetic words

  • If a word is phonetic it means the word can be sounded out using the phonetic sound of individual letters
  • All phonetic words contain one of the vowels ‘a’, ‘e’, ‘I’, ‘o’ or ‘u’
  • The worksheets use words that are two or three letters long
  • For most children it is best to do one vowel at a time
