When we measure how heavy something is we are actually measuring its mass but often the word weight is used
Mass is the amount of matter ‘stuff’ in an object
This amount stays the same wherever you are - even on the moon
Weight is a force that measures how strongly gravity pulls on that mass
Because the moon has weaker gravity than Earth an object weighs less on the moon even though its mass is the same
