• The letter is shown without any picture prompts as this is an assessment pack

• Letters are in the order of the ‘first phonetic sounds a-z’ pack but can be assessed in any order

• It is important to keep a record of what children can and cannot do, in order to target the right learning activities for them

• The sound of the letter is much more important than the name in learning to read

• Use Adobe acrobat comment function to write freehand, type text and erase online
