A little more info...

  • Punctuation marks help the reader understand what the writer is trying to say
  • An apostrophe of contraction makes two words (eg. can and not) join together into one word (can’t) by taking out some letters and putting the apostrophe in their place
  • Some children may not be able to write completely grammatically correct sentences but will be able to use the contractions
